Update: Access to Obesity Management Medications
In Suffolk and North East Essex, obesity management medications are only available through the specialist Weight Management and Complex Obesity Service (WMCOS).
GP practices in Suffolk and North East Essex are now able to refer eligible patients to this service. Full details, including the latest information and eligibility criteria for referral, can be found on the dedicated webpage linked below.
If you believe you meet the referral criteria, please submit a routine request via askmyGP asking your GP to consider a referral to the service.
Please note that referrals can only be made if the eligibility criteria are met, and a referral does not guarantee that you will be prescribed medications such as Mounjaro® or other obesity treatments. All patients referred will be assessed by the specialist service before any treatment decisions are made.
